Sherm Gleason was a longtime resident of Spring Lake and Crockery Township who wrote articles and reminiscences of the area, and collected memoirs and histories of early settlers of Ottawa County.

Esther E. Henning wrote and compiled several histories of northern Ottawa County. She taught at schools in Eastmanville and Grand Haven.
